Why do many Americans think America is more safe after 9/11 and 2003 Iraq War?

Most people aren't concerned about being safe from sentiment. Most people are concerned about being safe from bombs and bullets. Before 9/11, terrorists in Afghanistan were free to organize, train, and raise money. Now they aren't. Before the Iraq war, Saddam Hussein contributed tons of money to terrorists. Now he doesn't.
